Dr. George D. Miller III - Lead Pastor

   Dr. Miller has been the Lead Pastor of The Gathering Place @ NSBC for since the fall of 2008. Dr. Miller came to The Gathering Place after spending 27 years in Christian higher education training men and women for full time vocational ministries. From 1998 to 2008 he was president of Davis College, formerly Practical Bible College, in Johnson City, New York. 

    A graduate of Davis College, Dr. Miller also holds a bachelor degree from Bryan College, Dayton, Tennessee, and earned the master and doctorate degrees from Syracuse University. Dr. Miller has a passion for multicultural ministry and is involved in racial reconciliation activities in the greater Syracuse area as well as internationally with Dr. David Anderson and BridgeLeader Network. He has taught Bible and leadership in Russia, Cuba and in numerous African countries.

    Dr. Miller has written numerous articles for periodicals on a wide variety of subjects pertaining to the Christian faith as well as counseling. He is the co-editor with Dr. Woodrow Kroll of Hope Grows in Winter, published by Kregel Press, and he authored the chapter, “The Tribulation”, in Looking Ahead, a book on biblical prophecy published by Faithful Life Publishers. He is currently working on a book assignment entitled, Dare to Care: Lessons for Today from the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Dr. Miller is chairman of the Board of Directors of Centershot Ministries and vice chairman of the Psalm 119 Association known as the Woodrow Kroll Ministries. 

     Dr. Miller is married to Elaine, the father of three grown children and grandfather of seven grandchildren.
