Senior adults

Pastor Ray Cowan

Ray and his wife Judy were part of our missions family for 10 years before coming to minister at The Gathering Place to our senior members. His primary concern was for the homebound and those needing assistance and encouragement. Prior to coming to The Gathering Place, Ray was Director of a Christian retreat center, providing a free summer camp program to children of the nearby economically depressed area and available for retreat groups during the balance of the year. Ray first understood who Jesus really is in his early 30's and found God transplanted him into a fundamental, evangelical, independent Bible church for a thorough grounding in God's Word. Applying God's Word in his life and freely sharing with others led to his being commissioned as a full-time staff elder there with ministry responsibilities including the senior adults. Now he works with our mature adults as he encourages the seniors to be "Ambassadors" for Jesus - II Corinthians 5:14-20
